Category: book Nook
Hey all,
I just thought I'd post this on here because I love to read and I've got over 300 audio books now and I figured if anyone wanted new ideas of a book to read, then they could go to this website that my boyfriend and I made. it's www.themillionweb.net/books
It's got all of my library edition books on it so far, i didn't get a chance to put up the other books that you can buy from the bookstore, but I'll do it soon I hope. There's audio samples on some of the books, I just got lazy lately and haven't put any new ones up. If anyone wants to hear a sample of a certain book, let me know and I'll put one up there for you. Anyway, there's 281 titles to choose from, or you can brouse by author or what genre you like to read. I hope if anyone does look at it, give some feedback on if I should change or add things to it and let me know what you think. I hope you won't be disappointed.
I think you should have a mailing list like you did once before.
are there any whole books there are just audio samples? thanks,
wonderwoman
same question, sounds interesting
Well, no, there's not full books up there. I just made samples of books just to see what people would be interested in, and then they could buy it or rent from their library or something. I don't know if the nls has all the books because sometimes when I look for people I can't find them, so I don't know. These are different since their from professional recording studios like listening library or recorded books. I guess the other option is to look on ebay for them, I got most of these books for a dollar or a little more plus shipping, but that's not so bad don't you think? I guess that's why I have so many. AS for downloading for books, I would need lots of time to get them all on the website. I could probably do all the cd books since they won't be hard to extract and put up, but I dunno about the ones on tape, especially the long ones. And with downloading, how would I have people download them, and still be able to use my internet without it slowing down to a crawl? I guess you guys are sort of talking about like the bookserve thing. It's a thought though, I could probably do it, if people would help and if enough people are interested in this website first. Let me know if you agree or not.
Ok, I was looking at the site, and found there's a lot of children's books when they shouldn't be, I guess that wasn't fixed. For some reason I don't really consider childrens books to be childrens unless it's like second and third grade material that sounds like it was made for young people. I know that some of the books say ages 9 to 14 or whatever, but that's not age, that's just reading level I guess. They don't use many big words which I like because then I'd have to look them up. lol. Anyway, I'll fix that. I know a lot of authors are some you've never heard of, but I haven't either, and it's fun to explore books that I've never read before. I'm reading one right now that you can find the description to on the what book are you reading post. Anyway, let me know what you think of the website. Oh, I know the Mommy Books are a little messed up and there's a few that don't have descriptions, that will get fixed shortly.
Have a good day,
Jasmin
Hi Jasmin.
I know you said that you have a lot of audio books. I'm interested in buying some professionally recorded ones but don't know of any sites that offer them at a cheaper price. One book is about 40 dollars and I'm thinking of buying a whole bunch of them. However, the prices are a problem. lol So I was just wondering if you could give me some pointers on the sites you visit to get them. I am a member of bookserve but the site is extremely slow and doesn't have all the books I want anyway. I am a bit nervous about using ebay simply because I've never used it and am not even sure how to do so. hehe So if you could help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much.
Michelle
Hey, i just checked out your website. Pretty good site, well organized and easy to use. Hey are you planning to add more books to the selection?
Yeah, looks cool! I'll check it out when I can.
